Helen Sprowl - Admissions Director
I was born & raised in Burlington, Iowa. When I was 21, I moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri. That is where I met the Lord Jesus and surrendered my life to Him. I said, "Here am I, Lord, send me." The Lord led me to Tulsa, Oklahoma for Bible College. That is where I met my husband, Joseph Sprowl, who happened to be from Ohio. Joseph & I pastored 22 years in Michigan, Kansas, Texas, & Ohio. Between '06-'10, my husband Joe & I were Student Housing Directors at the College we graduated from in '84, Rhema Bible Training College. We have 2 grown children, Nathan & Alisha. Nathan and his wife, Tiffany, have one child, Dylan. I love people and I am very excited to be part of the Wedgewood family. There is a loving spirit among the staff & Residents and Jesus is openly exalted and proclaimed.
Gloria Saunders, LPN - Director of Nursing
It will be 14 years next month that I have worked at Wedgwood Estates. It has never seemed like coming to work to be here. It has always been a pleasure to come here to be with my extended family. I was one of the charge nurses on night shift until recently when I was offered this position. I am finding I really enjoy it. It is very rewarding to be in a posiotion to help others. I have already learned so much and am looking forward to learning so much more. I have wanted to be a nurse since I was young and have never regretted that decision. I live in Mount Vernon with my husband of 26 year. We just moved my father-in-law in with us now that he is older and needing a little help. When I'm not at Wedgewood, I enjoy spending time with my family, taking country rides, reading, and taling walks.
Heather Newton- Office Manager
What can I say… Wedgewood is just one of those places where there’s just something different about it. Whether it’s the Christian atmosphere, the beautiful décor, the residents, employees, or all of the above…there’s just nothing in comparison to it. As the Office Manager at Wedgewood, you will find that one of my favorite sayings is “there’s never a dull moment here at Wedgewood” and it is so very true - There is always something for the residents to do and I feel very blessed to be given a first hand glance at the social interaction between the residents & staff each and every day. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful family at Wedgewood; both co-workers and residents alike! When I am not at Wedgewood, my time is spent with my family, training and caring for our llamas and horses, reading, atv riding, antique/flea market shopping and exploring the beauty of God’s creation; both near and far.
Marquietta Rine – Director of Housekeeping
I have worked at Wedgewood for 13 years. Before coming here I worked for a short time as a nurses aid and also provided cleaning services. I suppose that the reason I love working here so much is not only my love for cleaning but my desire to care for people. My favorite part of my work is caring for our residents and taking time to love on them. When I’m not at Wedgewood I enjoy working outside in my yard as well as being a proud grandma of 5 grandchildren.
I have been part of the Wedgewood family for just four years now and I can’t imagine a better place to work. God is at the center of everything we do at Wedgewood and caring for our residents has never felt like a job to me, but more of a ministry. It brings me joy to see their smiles and laughter as they enjoy a game, music time, or socialize with one another. One of my favorite parts of my job is spending time with residents, getting to know them. They have so much wisdom and experience to share and they are a generation that should be honored for the lives they’ve lived and are still living. I enjoy finding activities to make their lives richer and more enjoyable here at Wedgewood. I have two beautiful children, Lily age 7, and Nathan age 5. With my children being young, much of what I enjoy outside of Wedgewood revolves around spending time with family. Whether we’re playing outside, hiking, biking or camping, leading Adventure Club at our church, much of my time is focused on caring for them.
I have been part of Wedgewood since we opened and had the privilege of starting in a very new facility. I have learned so much and have been allowed to share some of my own ideas. I am grateful for the great ownership I get to work for. To have a company who prays every morning before starting your work day means so much. The Castos built this facility with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as the center of it all and ask his guidance and wisdom to shine on them every day. Prior to working at Wedgewood I worked as a plumber, and electrician and also as a Maintenance and Building Director for health care facilities. I am married (very happily) to my lovely bride of almost 34 years and we live in the outskirts of Mt. Gilead in Morrow County. We have two Great children. Jeff and his wife Ti and Carrie and her fiancé Zach. When I am not at Wedgewood I enjoy being involved at church, running, swimming, gardening and being with friends on Friday nights at Olive Garden. I love my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ Family & Friends very much.
Tammy Bletz - Dietary Supervisor
Wedgewood is an amazing place to work. In everything we do at Wedgewood, God comes first- from our daily morning pray to every event. The collective wisdom and amazing lives of our residents is outstanding. We serve them, and get back so much more in return. My Passion has always been cooking. When not cooking at Wedgewood, I enjoy cooking for my family, especially my 5 grandchildren. Before joining the Wedgewood family, I owned my own restaurant for 10 years. I had waitressed at the restaurant for 14 years prior to owning it. I have always loved serving people. Coming from a huge family may have something to do with that! I have always been service oriented- serving my God, family, and others. Serving others has always been fulfilling and rewarding to me. I believe if you are called to be in the service industry and have a passion for it, it shows in all you do. This serving attitiude shows in our entire staff.
